HIVE beta · Updated October 11, 2026

Privacy policy

HIVE is personal media software operated by Ilya Iaskevich. This policy covers the HIVE Windows server, Roku app, and this information website.

Your media stays with your server

The server reads the media folders you configure and stores a local catalog, including file paths, titles, technical media information, generated artwork, and playback progress. Media is streamed from your PC to paired devices on your home network. HIVE does not upload your library to a HIVE cloud service.

Device pairing and local data

Pairing credentials are stored by the server and Roku app to authorize access to your library. Playback requires requests between these devices. Local server logs and temporary streaming files may contain technical information about playback and media paths. HIVE does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.

This website and support

This website has no HIVE account registration, advertising, or analytics scripts. Its hosting provider may process technical request information, such as IP addresses and browser information, under its own policies. Roku separately operates the Roku platform and may collect platform data under its policies.

If you email support, your email address, message, and any information you choose to send are processed to answer your request. Please do not send passwords or personal media files. Email providers also process those communications.

Your choices

You control the media folders configured on your server. You can stop the server, remove paired-device access, or uninstall the apps. Local catalog data and temporary files may remain on the PC after uninstalling; contact support for help removing them without removing your media. You can also request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any necessary retention obligations.

Children and updates

HIVE is not directed to children and has no built-in content suitability ratings. The server owner controls the available media. This policy may be updated as the beta changes; the current policy and date will appear here.
