Terms of use

These terms describe use of the HIVE personal media beta provided by Ilya Iaskevich. Use HIVE only if you agree to these terms.

Personal media software

HIVE provides tools to browse and stream your own media from a Windows PC to a paired Roku on your home network. No media content, subscription catalog, or rights to any movie or program are included. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed for the files you access and for complying with applicable law.

Beta availability

The beta is provided without a HIVE subscription charge. It may contain defects, change, expire, or become unavailable. Compatibility and uninterrupted playback are not guaranteed. Keep backups of your media and protect access to your PC, network, and paired devices. Do not expose this home-network beta directly to the public internet.

Appropriate use

Do not use HIVE to access another person’s files or devices without permission, distribute unlawful content, or interfere with someone else’s systems. You control the library and who can access it.

Warranty and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the beta is supplied “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or uninterrupted operation. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Third-party services

Roku devices, the Roku platform, website hosting, and other third-party software are governed by their respective terms. HIVE is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Roku, Inc.

Privacy, changes, and contact

See the privacy policy for information about local data and support communications. These terms may change as the beta develops, with the updated version posted here. You may stop using HIVE at any time.
